BACKGROUND

The purpose of Avrupa Kitap is to deliver books written in Turkish mostly to Germany but also the rest of the world. They are planning to sell the books from internet without having a local book shop.

THE NEED

An e-commerce website which anyone from around the world can use and buy books. Also a useful control panel to enter the content and books' details.

THE SOLUTION

We used the free software WordPress and it's highly popular e-commerce plugin, WooCommerce. The website is built upon a premium WordPress theme which is developed especially for book stores. We customized this theme for the needs of Avrupa Kitap. Payment system is done using PayPal, but in a way which clients do not need to have a PayPal account to pay. An important detail for this website was the shipments as Avrupa Kitap is planning to ship to almost all countries. For Germany, it is cheaper to send just one book via local post service but use private shipment companies for multiple books. We used and translated an advanced shipment plugin to support different delivery types and support shipment tracking for all of them.
